Roca Junyent has recruited former chairman of the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, Pascual Sala, as Consulting Partner in Madrid

- Sala, who was also chairman of the Governing Board of the Spanish Judiciary and the Court of Auditors, will strengthen the arbitration area and contribute to the development of the litigation area and, specifically, to the contentious-administrative team

The law firm Roca Junyent has recruited Pascual Sala as Consulting Partner, heading the arbitration area from the Madrid office. With his longstanding experience, the former chairman of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court shall also help to strengthen the litigation department of the law firm and, specifically, the contentious-administrative area of the business.
With this recruitment, the law firm continues with its strategy of attracting talent at the highest levels, becoming one of the leading law firms in Spain. Pascual Sala will also take on the representation of the law firm in national and international legal forums, as well as share his knowledge to promote in-house training of all the members of the Roca Junyent law firm.

The arbitration area of Roca Junyent is a growing department which includes many important members of the firm, as well as associates and collaborators. The area provides advice on all aspects and at all stages of the arbitration process: from the convenience of submitting a contract and the design of an arbitration agreement, to the defense of a case or intervention as arbitrators, including acting as legal counsel in all manner of arbitration procedures.
Pascual Sala is a Doctor honoris causa of the University of Valencia, and during his protracted career he has held some of the most relevant positions in the legal profession in Spain. Sala was Supreme Court Magistrate, Chairman of the Court of Auditors (1988-1990), Chairman of the Governing Board of the Spanish Judiciary and the Supreme Court (1990-1996) and Chairman of the Constitutional Court (2011-2013). Among many other accolades and honours, he holds the Medal of Constitutional Merit, the Grand Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort and the Grand Cross of the Order of III. In addition, he has been appointed honorary member of several Attorneys’ Associations.
Pascual Sala is, in addition, the autor of a good share of the contentious-administrative litigation literatura in Spain. He has co-authored the Obra Práctica Procesal Contencioso Administrativa, in 13 volumes, and the work Derecho Procesal Administrativo (Comentarios integrales a la Ley de la Jurisdicción Contencioso-Administrativa), comprising 7 volumes. Sala has also co-written the works Derecho de la Edificación, Jurisdicción y Competencia en el Proceso Contencioso Administrativo, Las instituciones del Derecho Administrativo en la jurisprudencia y Derecho Procesal Administrativo.
