RocaJunyent, partner of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas to award the best university initiative in legaltech
- The law firm will participate in the 8th edition of the competition-programme Comillas Emprende through the "RocaJunyent Tech" Award
- Through this collaboration agreement, promoted by RocaJunyent’s Innovation Committee, the law firm is at the forefront of the latest developments in the legal sector
The law firm RocaJunyent and Universidad Pontificia Comillas Comillas have signed a collaboration agreement whereby the firm will become a partner of the Comillas Emprende Competition-Programme. In this way, Roca Junyent will be the only law firm to participate in the university initiative, which seeks to promote entrepreneurship among its students.
The eighth edition of the competition will feature the "RocaJunyent Tech" award, in recognition of the best technological initiative in legaltech products and services. The best business idea in this area will receive a prize of €1,000, as well as a free year of tax and labour agency services, a space as an incubator in RocaJunyent's offices and personalised advice on setting up a start-up. The prize offered by the firm complements other awards given by companies such as Iberdrola, Indra and Everis.
"RocaJunyent's innovation committee is very pleased to be the first law firm to join the eighth edition of the Comillas Emprende ideas competition to promote entrepreneurship in the university community. To this end, we have created this award, with the aim of recognising the best technological initiative with a vocation to offer a legaltech product", says Marlen Estévez, Co-Director of the Innovation Department at RocaJunyent.
The collaboration between the law firm and Universidad Pontificia Comillas has been promoted by RocaJunyent’s Innovation Committee, as part of its adaptation to the constant changes faced by the legal sector. The firm’s Innovation Committee works to promote and be at the forefront of new developments in the legal market.
In this regard, Marlen Estévez explains that "for the sector to evolve, it is essential that this change of mentality begins to take shape at university, and projects such as Comillas Emprende are great catalysts for this". "We have to develop entrepreneurial talent and the culture of innovation in the legal world and find innovative solutions to successfully face the challenges that the legal sector is facing," she adds.
RocaJunyent’s efforts in the field of innovation and legaltech were rewarded in the 3rd edition of the Global Legal Hackathon, in which the firm’s team won in the private benefit category, as well as in the GLH Inclusivity Challenge with the Iqualex software.
