The Supreme Court validates that companies can hire detectives even if there are no grounds for suspicion.

The jurisprudence of the high court has been defending the need for the hiring of detectives to be applied in a proportional manner and respecting in any case the "dignity" of the worker and his or her privacy.

Pere Vidal, Associate Director in Labour Law at RocaJunyent, has participated in an article in El Periódico de España which discusses the application to this type of cases of the provisions of the Private Security Act of 2014, which limits the obtaining of data in the home or reserved places, as these are protected by the right to privacy.
